Am Markt in Eckartsberga

Solo traveler. Pilgrim. Stay for one night. June 2020. The rating only refers to the shared room. As a pilgrim you have no expectations of 5 star luxury. Absolutely in order and functional equipment. Everything you need. Breakfast was plentiful and okay. Reception was friendly. Won't be a regular, it was nice anyway.

Great value for money. Very nice staff. Insider tip for eating delicious schnitzel in the weekly offer on Wednesdays. Also for take away.

Unfortunately there is no WiFi and the water wasn't in the room either. Breakfast was good, room ok.

The new owners are just moving in. There is Serbian-Croatian cuisine .... Evaluation is pending ....

The room and the bathroom are in need of renovation.

I liked the very friendly staff and the cleanliness best! Nice reception in reception. Rooms are nicely equipped and, above all, very clean! Breakfast was very plentiful, everyone can find something for themselves. The Croatian and German food was also very tasty! There are nice opportunities for excursions, on foot or by bike nearby! I definitely recommend the Hotel Am Markt!

Food could be better ....

The restaurant of the Hotel "Am Markt" Eckartsberga impresses with its culinary selection of Croatian - Slovenian cuisine. The menu is clear, with delicacies from the above Region. Price-performance ratio is right for both the food and the drinks. The 2-3 nice ladies who are responsible for the hotel make a visit even more worthwhile. Very friendly. For me the hotel "Am Markt" is an underrated place and a little insider tip.

We had booked two 3 bed rooms. In the bathroom it was freezing cold, the heating was set to 3 in the evening (because the bathroom was small) in the morning still cold. Provided toothbrush glasses partly brown dirty stains, behind the sink on the tiles something indefinable greasy. When showering you had to be lucky if you got wet, the water jet was set so sparingly. It is advertised with free Wi-Fi access is also in the rooms ... logged-in, but we had none Fi ... 5 phones told us no internet access! Upon arrival, payment had to be made immediately, even before the keys were available, we did not receive a receipt. So not a friendly reception. Lots of stairs (the stairwell was very dirty) and no elevator, for people with hip problems, very, very difficult! The only positive thing was the breakfast. That was more than sufficient, tasty and a good selection. All in all, the breakfast can't tear it out, for € 70.90 per night you can expect more! We were there 4 or 5 years ago (with the previous owner), we liked it better!

I would recommend. Cheap accommodation in a clean and modest room. Large shower cubicle. Separate entrance to the part with rooms. We managed to find accommodation without a reservation. Strengths: location in the center of a historic, charming town, friendly staff and ... instruments (piano and guitar) available for music guests - the memory of a nice evening!

Great atmosphere, clean, quiet and friendly staff. We felt very comfortable there.

Staff inattentive and disinterested. Impossible table times Breakfast from 8am to 10am, lunch from 11am to 1pm and dinner for an event only from 8pm to 9pm. Breakfast loveless and hardly choice. Rooms were clean and tidy which one of the "beer garden" and the "terrace" can not say

Nice little hotel at the foot of the Eckartsburg. Slovenian-Croatian cuisine which is very tasty. We stayed there for 3 days and felt very comfortable. Room clean and spacious. However, it would be nice if new towels were bought. Our dog wasn't a problem either. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Every Friday the owner offers the best Thuringian bratwursts from Apolda fresh from the charcoal grill. We took 200 pieces with us from the slaughterhouse. Very friendly staff and we look forward to next time.
